For accurate record keeping purposes all consultations are audio recorded. Please note if you do not wish for your consult to be recorded then we will not be able to assist you at our clinic. To prevent credit card fraud and misuse of health fund memberships Photo ID is required at your initial consultation and will be stored on our secure database. Patients are prohibited to use recording or photographic equipment in consulting treatment rooms unless written permission has been granted by Merrifield Wellness. Consultations must not to be substituted for medical advice by a GP.

Merrifield Wellness has a strict policy whereby we do NOT prescribe supplements without an Initial Consultation or by referral from another Naturopath or Healthcare Practitioner (unless they are one of our partners). Cyber Bullying Is A Crime. The Commonwealth legislation governs online stalking and harassment behaviour. The crimes legislation amendment (telecommunications offences and other measures Act) – (No. 2) 2004 makes it a crime to use a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence. All IP addresses, emails and phone records are tracked and stored.

 

Victorian laws apply to online harassment and online bullying behaviour. Under the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth) it is an offence to use the internet, social media or a telephone to menace, harass or cause offence. The maximum penalty for this offence is three years imprisonment or a fine of more than $30,000.

 

Stalking involves a persistent course of conduct by a person against a victim, which intends to make them feel fearful, uncomfortable, offended or harassed. This conduct may occur online (for example, by email or on social networking sites) or via phone or text message. Stalking offences carry heavy maximum penalties.

Agreements are governed in all respects and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Victoria and are legally binding.
