Calming Lavender Blends

If you've had the pleasure of visiting my clinic you'll be aware that you are welcomed into an oasis of aromatic essential oils. There are a handful of oils that work well to calm the nervous system. One of the most popular is Lavender, which is commonly used to reduce anxiety. It also used to reduce headaches and improve sleep. Lavender contains over 100 known compounds, including phytochemicals and antioxidants. The most well-known of these compounds is limonene, which stimulates digestive enzymes in the liver and may help to detoxify the body of carcinogens.

Popular calming essential oils have been used to successfully calm the nervous system and reduce stress levels in animals and humans. There are numerous oils that compliment Lavender and combined together have powerful therapeutic actions. These include:


  • Lavender

  • Champa

  • Sandlewood

  • Bergamot

  • Lemon

  • Ylang Ylang

  • Clary Sage

  • Neroli

  • Geranium

  • Roman Chamomile

Try a classic Calming Blend and spritz it around your bedroom, in the car or office. You can also add a couple of drops to a diffuser or burner.

Caution


Tread with caution if you take sedatives or medication to treat high blood pressure. Consuming lavender along with sedatives may cause increased drowsiness. Likewise, lavender taken in combination with medication for high blood pressure may cause your blood pressure to drop too low. Check with your Healthcare Practitioner before using this flower in cooking or when taking it in a supplement form - if you have concerns about any drug interactions.
